If you suffer with chronic back pain or regular flare ups
then this course is designed to help you.
This 6 week rehabilitation style course is a gentle and specialised yoga, designed to teach and empower you to manage your back pain and improve your mobility, flexibility, health & well-being.
Its aim is to teach you long term self management & health of your back.
The course is lead by Paul Wooding - a highly-skilled, experienced and qualified ‘Yoga for Healthy Lower Backs’ registered teacher. Paul is also a trained Feldenkrais Practioner FGUK. He specialises in this therapeutic, rehabilitation style of yoga and trained with the Yoga Biomedical Trust in London to teach Therapeutic Yoga.
His other qualifications include Restorative Yoga and British Wheel of Yoga Foundation 1 & 2
The course is suitable for anyone who suffers with chronic back pain or regular flare ups - even those of you who have never done yoga before.
Paul guides you through each 75 minute session and encourages you towards changing your thought processes with regards to pain and movement.
This unique course is designed for those who suffer with chronic back pain. The full course was part of the ground breaking randomised controlled trial of ‘Yoga for Chronic Low Back Pain’. Led by the University of York and funded by Arthritis Research UK. It is endorsed by the NHS.
The results of the trial found that this kind of specialised yoga is safe and extremely effective and should be recommended by GP’s to those with chronic low back pain.
The course runs Mondays 7:30pm in our Zen Room.
